澳洲高中课程的Mathematics Methods数学课学什么？怎么学？让我们上海帕丁顿双语学校ACC的李老师来和大家说说。

经常会有同学问：“李老师啊，我们学习函数啊有什么用啊？”，每每有学生问起这样的问题，其他同学都会主动回应到：“考试啊”，这样的回答虽在情理之中，却又显得有些乏味。

澳洲高中课程的Mathematics Methods学科的一项教学目标为培养学生解决实际问题的能力，为了更好地培养学生解决问题的能力，ACC的教师在教学中采用多种教学方法，如脚手架教学法、费曼教学法、Marzano’s high-yield instructional strategies（马扎诺的高产教学策略）、项目化学习（PBL）等。下面来举个例子：

在11年级的第二场关于函数与图像的考试中，同学们迎来了一份特别的考试任务。先让我们一起来看看试卷内容吧！

接下来，让我们一起欣赏学生的作品，看看他们的创意。

作品1：Zachary的太空猫  

作品2：Bill的机器人

作品3：Flora的宇航员

作品4：Eason的爱吃糖果的小妹妹

通过每一幅作品，不难看出，大家的想法各有千秋，那么，是什么激发了他们这样的设计灵感呢？

Flora说：The image I designed is an astronaut. Some time ago, I can often see some people on the Internet to make a ticket to emigrate to Mars in 2026. I went online to find out and found that the American architectural design studio ABIBOO has recently announced the design plan for the first Martian city. A city will be built on a cliff on Mars. This plan also includes traveling to and from the earth. Commuting spacecraft between Mars. It occurred to me that each of us would wear spacesuits and eat space meals, just like astronauts. So I thought of drawing an astronaut.

Zach说：This ‘space cat” is inspired by the model of a character, Blitz-crank, in my favorite game. It is a robot with its left hand makes a fist and its right hand is a hook. The robot is decorated with element of cats and looks cute as well as cool. There is a picture showing what it looks like in the game.

学生的作品看上去线条简单，但是，他们需要把作品的每一部分用具体的函数表示出来，所以，在设计的过程中，同学们在实现自己的设计灵感的同时，还要兼顾函数的求解。另外，在设计中，要求学生至少包含三种不同的函数，且要将刚刚学习过的三角函数涵盖进去，在如此诸多的条件约束下，对于刚刚接触到这种类型的考试的同学来说还是有着一定的挑战性的。

在函数的求解部分，学生占用了大片的篇幅求解设计中不同部分的函数解析式，其中，除了要求出对应图像的函数解析式外，还要准确定义每个部分的定义域。这里以Zach同学的作品为例，供大家参考。

在读到学生的反思与收获时，作为教师，也有颇多感触。

Bill说：This time the work was completed with the help of the teacher and classmate-Zach. Then the biggest gain this time is that it made me understand that mathematics functions can be displayed by drawing, and trough this assessment, I find the fun of learning mathematics. In fact, mathematics and life are closely linked together. Mathematics has become very magical, which may also be its charm.

Eason说（节选）：I didn't actively complete this exam. I just completed the tasks that I should complete every day, step by step. But there are two students in our class who are very active in completing the exam. I should learn from them.

学生最终的作品是以报告的形式呈现的，整个报告包含：统一的封面、自动生成的目录、成品、坐标系下的作品、设计理念、设计中的困难及解决方案、反思与收获、参考文献及部分组成。这其中目录部分教会学生自己探索如何自动生成目录，参考文献部分则教会学生引用的必要性以及引用文献的标准格式，增强学生的版权意识，感悟学术的严谨性。
